Our approach to care

Cochrane Care Home offers residential care, nursing, and dementia care plus, subject to availability, respite and convalescent care. The care home has a particular expertise in assisting residents with specific medical needs with a team of highly skilled registered nurses.

Daily activities

Our activities coordinator organises a weekly schedule of activities and entertainment to keep life fun and engaging for our residents. Residents are able to explore the local community and beyond through trips and excursions in our own minibus.

Menu

Our chef prepares a delicious menu of three meals a day plus snacks. Personal preferences and dietary requirements are fully catered for so that all residents look forward to mealtimes.

A modern purpose-built home with 57 single rooms and 2 double rooms, all with en-suite facilities. There are a number of comfortable lounges and dining rooms, all of which are well-appointed and offer the opportunity for residents to comfortably socialise.

Cochrane has a good relationship with the local Church, schools, nurseries and now a ‘baby to pre-nursery age’ group whose members visit the home regularly. The garden areas provide peace and quiet for residents and their families to enjoy. Staff frequently organise shopping trips and excursions for residents in the company minibus.

The team are always looking to add new, meaningful activities into the monthly schedule. Recently, residents embarked on a language course which had them participating in weekly lessons. The classes were so popular that some have asked to continue learning during their one-to-one sessions.
